Priority registration dates are based on your completed credits, credits currently registered for, and the last digit of your student number.
See the Registration Academic Calendar for your priority registration dates. Follow the links under each quarter.
The student number priority is changed each quarter so that all students have the earliest possible priority every other quarter. One half of the available spaces in each course are reserved for day two of each priority period. If a registration message states that the first day spaces are filled, then the other half will be released on day two of that priority period. You may register using MyUW on, or after, your registration date and make changes to your schedule.
Notices of registration dates are mailed to newly admitted or readmitted students. You may register on or after your date. Period I students may also register anytime during period II.
This period is from the first day of the quarter through the 7th calendar day of the quarter.
All courses added during this period require a Entry Code or Faculty Number. A $20 change of registration fee will be charged for all registration changes made on a single day during this period.
Courses may be dropped without restriction from the first day of Registration Period I through the 7th calendar day of the quarter (Period III). No record of the dropped course(s) will be recorded on the transcript.
This period is from the 8th calendar day of the quarter through the 14th calendar day of the quarter. Courses may be dropped without restriction during this period. No record of the dropped course(s) will be recorded on the transcript. There is a $20 Change of Registration Fee and a tuition forfeiture may be charged for all registration changes made on a single day during this period.
You may change to or from the audit grade option through 3:00 p.m., Friday of the second week of the quarter. This transaction must be done in person at the the Office of Student Affairs, Room UW1 160.
Each academic year (September through August) you may drop one (1) course after the 14th calendar day of a quarter, but no later than the end of the 7th week of the quarter. Once this "annual drop" is used, no additional drops will be permitted after the 14th calendar day until the next autumn quarter. A W grade and the week designation (W3 through W7) will follow the course title on your academic transcript.
There is a $20 Change of Registration Fee and a tuition forfeiture may be charged for all registration changes made on a single day during this period.
If you use your one "annual drop" and then find that you must completely withdraw from the quarter, your one "annual drop" will be restored.
If you used your one "annual drop" prior to submission of a hardship withdrawal and your petition is granted, your one "annual drop" will be restored.
