What type of classes will I take my freshman year? The first year curriculum is centered around the Discovery Core, a sequence of courses that will engage you in a community of learners, orient you to university academics and social activities, and introduce you to the richness of interdisciplinary learning.  In addition to the Discovery Core classes, you will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of electives.

What student life activities are offered at UW Bothell? There are many opportunities for students to get involved outside of the classroom.  We have over 30 student organizations you can join. If you have a particular interest that doesn't match a current club, you can start your own.  UW Bothell also offers a variety of recreational sports along with wellness and lifestyle programs.  Our Student Life is always putting together fun, new events, like concerts, comedy shows, sushi and movie night, cooking classes and much, much more.

What student resources will be available to me if I attend?

There are many different academic support services and resources available to UW Bothell students including the Academic Resource Center, Center for University Studies and Programs, Career Development Center, Library, Media Center, Quantitative Skills Center, and Writing Center. In addition, our small classes (average of 23 students per class) allow you to work closely with your professors and peers both in and outside of the classroom.  

What sports are available on campus?

UW Bothell offers recreational sports that include Basketball, Indoor Soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, and Coed Softball.

What is it about being a part of a team that we love? Is it the common goal that we work towards? Is it meeting new people? Or is it simply being a getaway for a few hours from the grind of daily life?

Do I get UW Student Ticket discounts?

Do I have access to the entire UW library system?

Yes. UW Bothell has over 75,000 books, the entire UW library system has over 7,000,000 books. In addition to the UW Library system, students have access to the Orbis-Cascade system of over 25,000,000 books.

How do I set up my UWNetID?

As an entering student, you will need to establish your University identity, your  UWNetID and email account. If you did not create an ID and password during the admissions process, you can visit http://washington.edu/computing/uwnetid/

When/where do I get my husky card?

Students get their Husky Card at orientation or by visiting the UW Bothell Security Office. Please be sure to bring your UW Bothell student number and a valid photo ID.

How do I pay for tuition?

Autumn 2008 tuition is due on Oct 10, 2008. Tuition can be paid online or at the UW Bothell Cashier's Office.

Can I take classes at the other University of Washington campuses?

Do I need my own laptop/desktop?

UW Bothell provides access to computers on campus for almost all your needs, including two computer labs and multiple workstations around the campus. If you have a laptop, our campus is completely wireless, meaning you can access the internet from anywhere on campus for free.

What are my transportation options to get to campus?

How will AP/IB credits transfer?
