Off-Campus Access Help/More Info
You will need a UW NetID to view your library record online, request materials from the library catalog, initiate renewals, and more. To learn about UW NetIDs, visit the following links:
- Learn about UW NetIDs for CCC users
- Library UW NetID help
- Check to see if you already have a working UW NetID
2. HOW TO CONNECT FROM HOME
The off-campus proxy service allows users to access "UW restricted" resources, such as electronic journals and library databases, from off-campus. Only access to those resources with the "UW restricted" icon are affected. This service is not required for off-campus access to the UW Libraries Catalog, renewing or requesting books, or ERes electronic reserves.
3. ACTIVATE YOUR LIBRARY ACCOUNT
Before you check out books (or use many other Library services) make sure that your library account is activated. Just visit the Information Commons Desk in the Campus Library, present your CCC ID card, and ask any staff person to verify that your account is ready for use. Staff will link your barcode and input any information necessary for full library service to your patron record for immediate library use.
Link your barcode online (optional)
CCC ID cards have 14-digit library barcode numbers printed on their back sides. Your barcode needs to be linked to your patron record as part of account activation. As an alternative to contacting library staff in the Information Commons of the Campus Library, you may link your own barcode using this online Web form.
Please note: If you link your barcode online (rather than in person at the Campus Library Information Commons Desk) it will take approximately two days for your request to be processed. In addition, you may need to contact library staff to input other information necessary for full library service into your library account, such as UW NetID.
To protect your privacy, close all browser windows when finished accessing your library account information
Setting up email notification online (optional)
Entering a current email address into your library record sets up electronic delivery of library notices. Setting up email notification allows you to get emails when a requested item is available for pickup, when a book you've checked out is overdue or when an item on your account has been recalled for another patron. You will not receive printed overdue notices in the mail - only via e-mail.
As an alternative to contacting library staff in the Information Commons of the Campus Library, you may register for email notification online, by logging into Your Library Account using your UW NetID.
- Choose the "Modify Personal Information" link
- Enter your email address (or change the email address already in your record) and click on SUBMIT
- To protect your privacy, close all browser windows when finished accessing your library account information
4. READ ABOUT THE LIBRARY'S ELECTRONIC RESERVES SYSTEM
http://www.uwb.edu/library/aboutereserves.html - Materials placed on Electronic Reserves are restricted by UW NetID.
5. VISIT THE MEDIA CENTER WEBSITE
6. VISIT THE CASCADIA COMMUNITY COLLEGE WEBSITE
The CCC homepage includes links to the Class Schedule Index, the Open Learning Center, the Math and Writing Center and other CCC student support services.
