The Center on Reinventing Public Education (CRPE), now affiliated with UW Bothell, was founded in 1993. CRPE engages in independent research and policy analysis on a range of K-12 public education reform issues, including choice & charters, finance & productivity, teachers, urban district reform, leadership, and state & federal reform.

The Policy Studies graduate program houses a community of people who believe policy can make a difference. Students learn to apply social science theories to real-world concerns, use research to define policy problems and develop solutions, and become ethical policy actors, equipped for professional work in public, private, and non-profit sectors.
