The Minor in Education is intended to help students develop broad perspectives on the purposes and forms of education and schooling. It consists of 25 credits of coursework. One core course is required, Education and Society (B EDUC 320), and a minimum of two credits in Service Learning Practicum (B EDUC 452).

Are You a Senior Pursuing K-8 Teacher Certification?
Students with senior standing who are admitted to the K-8 Teacher Certification Extended Program may apply the following 16 credits of specified coursework within the minor toward certification requirements*:

B EDUC 427 Becoming a Professional Educator (3 credits)

* If accepted into the K-8 certification program, these courses may be taken concurrently with IAS courses in his/her senior year.
A 2.0 GPA is required for general admission to the Minor in Education; however, a 3.0 GPA is expected for admission to the UWB Teacher Certification Program. An application form for the Education Minor must be completed and be on file or the Minor will not be noted on a student's academic record.
