Creating your password

Unfortunately, computer hackers have developed methods for cracking simple passwords. For this reason, the new password you enter is checked by C&C. If it is not complex enough, you are immediately asked to think of another one. You are also encouraged to change your password on a frequent basis. You may receive an email reminder from C&C if you have not changed your password in the last three months.

Your password must meet the following criteria:

Tips for creating acceptable passwords:

Resetting a forgotten password or Changing a password:

If you have forgotten your password, you can use the express stations located in Computer Lab UW1-102 and LB1 Information Commons, or select a new password on the Student Password Renewal Web page. You will need to enter your Student Number (the number on your Husky Card) and Private Access Code (PAC): https://uwnetid.washington.edu/renew/. If you do not know your PAC, and have entered your three security questions, then you will have the option of using the security questions instead of the PAC to verify your identity.

Logging onto computers in Computer Lab UW1-102 and UWB Computer Classrooms

You must have a UW NetID to use the Computer Lab UW1-102 and the computer classrooms.

Logging off:

Logging off is necessary each time you finish using a computer in the computer lab and computer classrooms. If you don't log off, then the next person to use the computer will be using it under your name and will have access to your data. You will be held responsible for any damage to the system under your logon.

Blackboard

Blackboard is Web courseware used by UWB faculty. With Blackboard, faculty have an opportunity to add online components to a course: links, course content, online discussions to assessment, small groups, and chat. Blackboard can also be used for distance learning courses. Faculty and students can easily access Blackboard from any location, whether from home, on campus, or other locations.

Resetting a forgotten password

Students and instructors can retrieve a lost password by clicking on the "Forgot your password?" link at the Blackboard login screen. An email is then sent to you that allows you to create a new password.
