Connecting to the Student File Server (formerly Hermes) from Mac OS X
These directions are necessary to connect to the student file server from any system that is not located on the UWB campus and is not part of UWB.edu domain. This includes home machines, personal laptops, and other non-Bothell computing equipment.
To connect to the Student File Server on Mac, you must install Goliath (version 1.0.1.):
- In the "Goliath_1_0_1" window, click and drag the Goliath 1.0.1 folder into your Applications folder, which is located in your Mac Hard Drive.
Now that you have installed Goliath, you can easily access your student file server folder by following these steps:
- Open your Applications folder and double-click the Goliath 1.0.1 folder.
- In the "Goliath 1.0.1" window, double-click the Goliath 1.0.1 icon.
- A "New WebDAV Connection" window will appear:
- Next to User Name: type youruwnetid@netid.washington.edu
- Next to type your UWNetID password in the "Password" box
- A "Security Alert" window may appear. If this alert appears, then place a check next to Install Certificate and then click OK.
- Double-click your home folder to open it.
- You can now double-click your files to open them, or drag and drop them to and from the computer you are using.
