Mercury
Mercury is the primary faculty/staff file server on campus. Regularly backing up your files is one of your best defenses against lost files caused by viruses, worms, and software or hardware failure. Backup your files on a regular schedule. How often you backup depends on how much your files change, but once a week or once every other week is a good interval for many people.

File Server Migration to the New Faculty Staff Server
Information Systems has enhanced UWB File Services to provide faculty and staff 1 GB of server space for their personal folders (an addition of 500 MB). Another benefit of this upgrade will be the added convenience of accessing personal folders from off-campus, anywhere in the world by simply using Internet Explorer.
During Fall Quarter 2007, faculty and staff will be notified on an individual basis by Information Systems when their Mercury folders will be migrated to the new Faculty & Staff File Server. The following webpages provide directions to assist Faculty and Staff with the migration process:
